Cebuella pygmaea

The Pygmy Marmoset is a type of monkey at that is frequently referred to as the Dwarf monkey. It is found in many of the warmer locations include Ecuador. It is considered to be one of the smallest primates in the world.

The Pygmy Marmoset is about 6 inches tall and they weigh about 5 ounces. They live in the trees where they are able to blend into the surroundings and to find food. They consume various types of plants and fruit. They live in small groups which is about 5 or 9 members. Typically it is the parents and then their offspring. They will remain with their parents for a few years.
