Meles meles
The European Badger varies in coloring including black, brown, gray, and silver. They have stripes of black and white on their ears and the top of the head. The European Badger can grow to a length of about 37 inches including the tail.
They typically weigh about 27 pounds but in the fall that doubles to help them get through the winter. They consume a wide variety of foods including berries and rabbits. Iceland is the home to most of them. They can be found in the wooded areas and the grasslands. They are active at night and sleep during the day.
