The Dolphin is a large mammal that lives in the water. They are believed to be very intelligent. They are similar to whales and there are about 40 species of them that have been identified. Some of them are as small as 4 feet and 90 pounds. The largest ones are 30 feet and can weigh up to 10 tons.
The Dolphin tends to live in shallow water which poses a risk in areas where there are boats. They consume fish and squid. They live in small groups called pods and seem to create very close bonds. The adults put the young in the middle of the pod to protect them.
