The Coyote belongs to the canine group. It is highly adaptable and they are able to live just about anywhere. They cover all of South Americaand 48 states of North Americaas well as Canada. In fact, in many areas Coyote hunting is legal to keep numbers down.
Tan, gray, and black are the typical colors that you will find for the Coyote. They are active at night looking for food. They consume various small creatures including rabbits and rodents. Their tails may be up to 16 inches long. They may weigh as much as 45 pounds but that varies based on diet and habitat.
