The Leopard Tortoise is quite large and it only lives in the Savannah areas of Africa. It grazes and moves along at a slow speed to find food. They rely on their hard shell to offer shelter from predators. They are often found hiding out in abandoned dens of other animals.

The Leopard Tortoise digs wholes to make a place to deposit their eggs. They feature a dark greenish type of coloring. They have been known to each items that other creatures can’t such as cactus. They can grow to 18 inches long and weight up to 40 pounds. The average life span for the Leopard Tortoise is 100 years.
