Facts about Gorillas
Gorillas are mammals and the largest of the living primates.
Gorillas live in tropical and
subtropical forests of Africa in limited zones.
There are two species of gorilla,
the Western Gorilla and the Eastern Gorilla, both with a couple of subspecies like the Mountain
Gorilla, a subspecies of the Eastern Gorilla.
Gorillas feed on fruits, leaves
and shoots.
Gorillas’ closest relatives are
humans and chimpanzees, having a DNA as much as 98% similar to that of humans.
Gorillas are caring mothers and
infants stay with their mothers for three to four years.
Gorilla lifespan ranges from
thirty to fifty years.
